Brandon has been with Braam’s for only a year and a half as our Supply Chain Manager – or Purchaser for short. While he isn’t in the foreground much, his job is crucial in ensuring we are all stocked up with product so that we can continue to build beautiful living spaces. Brandon describes it as sort of like the bass player of a band: if you’re hearing a bunch of noise, there is something going wrong.
While at Braam’s, Brandon has been able to learn how best to deal with suppliers and salespeople. A big part of his job is getting the most out of suppliers while maintaining these important relationships. He has lots of responsibility at the shop when it comes to product coming in and leaving the plant so that our clients receive the exact cabinetry they were expecting. Within this, he has been able to grow his knowledge on the ins and outs of the wood industry and, more specifically, on how different species of wood reacts depending on their environment. Unbeknownst to many, wood can – and will – behave differently in varying temperatures and conditions. For Brandon, knowing this can make a big difference in transportation and storage of that essential product.
By far, Brandon’s favourite part of his job is the responsibility he has in making sure Braam’s has the product necessary to complete a job. A company is much like an engine and the product is the fuel. Without that fuel, a company cannot function; which, as our Purchaser, Brandon supplies the fuel for Braam’s. While that level of obligation might be scary to some, Brandon handles his daily tasks like a seasoned pro – though, as he admits, he continues to learn something every day.
Not only does Brandon control our product supply, he also gets his eyes on new and exciting products coming into the spotlight. As a company that strives for innovation and uniqueness, he must have a keen sense on product that will help us continue to lead the industry in cutting-edge designs and end results. He is always pinpointing which wood species will be popular with clients before they even approach one of our designers with their project and continues to hone his trend forecasting skills within the woodworking industry.
Braam’s appreciates all your hard work, Brandon! We wouldn’t be able to make our stunning cabinetry without you. Thank you for being apart of the Braam’s family.
