Dave started his career with Braam’s not as a Braam’s employee but as a consultant for the sales department. Having run his own sales training business for 23 years, he enjoyed getting to play different roles on a day-to-day basis – he could be an insurance agent one day, an oil salesman the next, and a design consultant the following day. When he started with the Braam’s sales team, it quickly became apparent that there were other areas in which the company could improve upon. Now, 5 years later, Dave is the General Manager where he is responsible for overseeing the entire Braam’s operation and fixing the problems that pop up while keeping the company’s future in mind.

 

As the General Manager, Dave is in charge of making sure every department communicates and works together to make a beautiful end product for every client. He ensures that the cogs in the Braam’s machine are constantly turning and that everything functions as it should. He is an expert in excel and enjoys looking back at the company’s past successes and failures while continuing to look and plan for the future so that Braam’s continues to grow and flourish as it has been.

 

While his past career allowed him to diversify his knowledge in many industries, he enjoys now being able to focus his efforts into one industry – the cabinetry business – and has learned how to be flexible in dealing with the struggles that come with designing and building high quality cabinetry.

 

Moving forward, Dave acknowledges the importance of quality and strives to keep Braam’s accountable for every piece of craftsmanship that leaves the plant. He loves seeing a project come to life and appreciates the steps and effort that it takes to get a project to completion. He is key in ensuring that every project meets Braam’s standards and that every client receives the positive experience that they deserve. The most gratifying part of his job is hearing that our clients are 100% satisfied with the product and service.

 

Dave has done amazing work for Braam’s over the past 5 years. His expertise and hard work is a big part of the reason for our growth. Thank you, Dave, for your dedication to the company. We are happy to have you a part of the Braam’s family!

What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Learn From Your Experiences
If you could learn anything, what would it be?
I regret that I didn’t learn another language.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
I would set up a foundation – probably education. I’d also fund a program for the Wounded Warriors.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Aubrey – he was a 16th century royal navy captain from a series of books that Master in Commander was based on.
What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?
Travel.
What chore do you hate doing?
I procrastinate anything maintenance. I avoid everything that isn’t mission critical.
What three words define you?
Passionate, loyal, optimistic.
If you could meet any person – living or dead – who would it be?
Winston Churchill. His philosophy was always “If you don’t understand history, you are doomed to repeat it” and I would just love to have him look at what is happening in the world right now.
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into the industry?
Same advice that I’d give in any job – bring some passion and begin with an end in mind.
