A newer recruit for Braam’s, Gord has been with the company just shy of 2 years. While he has never had the opportunity to work with a high-end cabinet company before, Gord isn’t new to the design and build industry – he used to build houses as a hobby during the summer months!
With a background at the Elgin Business Resource Centre, Gord is used to helping businesses figure out how to run more effectively. From there, Gord retired but soon found himself helping Employment Services Elgin in better developing their system. Once he felt his job there was complete, Gord considered retiring again, but quickly decided against it upon receiving a call from Braam’s asking for his expertise in helping the company continue to grow. And the rest is history! Gord now takes care of special project management at Braam’s and continues to thrive doing so every day.
A bit of a grant specialist, Gord is responsible for managing each and every subsidy that comes to Braam’s. A spreadsheet guru, Gord tracks and maintains every grant to ensure Braam’s follows the rules and that everything is invoiced correctly. He is also responsible for researching funding opportunities that could benefit the company.
Despite his already busy schedule, Gord has found himself involved in much more than just grant related issues. A bit of a jack-of-all-trades, Gord now also assists with job costing analysis – figuring out how to best involve employees while maximizing valuable production time – as well as collaborating in launching the new ERP system Braam’s is implementing within the next few months.
Above all, Gord loves seeing how his hard work contributes to the overall goals of Braam’s. He enjoys coming to work and seeing fellow Braam’s employees as well as watching how technology is changing the workplace.
Thank you for all your hard work, Gord! We are so happy to have you a part of the Braam’s Family.
